Welcome to DAYBONES!

I’m Jon May. I engineer audio. Daybones is essentially me spending an unhealthy amount of time obsessing over details so you don’t have to.

I have a habit of caring about people's projects a little bit too much, but it means I don't know how to cut corners. No corporate studio jargon, no pretentious fluff, no “vintage sound” marketing. You tell me what you want it to sound like, and so it shall be.

If you want to know what I actually do, it breaks down to three things:

  • Spoken Word: I clean up bad room acoustics, remove mouth noises, and level out the volume. Your listeners should be able to relax into your words, not fight to hear them.

  • Music: I balance your track so that every instrument has its own space. The mix will translate accurately across headphones, car speakers, and club systems without losing the energy you tracked.

  • Games: I write original music and design the effects. You get a cohesive sonic world, from the background hum of a room to the score driving the scene, delivered clean and ready to drop straight into your project.
